EXFIRE360 Fire&Gas safety, functional SIL and remote tele-assistance management

The evolution of technology and the increasing performance requirements of detection and automatic fire extinguishing systems have introduced two new features of the fire panel: Sil functional safety systems and remote management of remote systems. The modular EXFIRE360 panel of SV has been designed to offer customers both functions, as well as ensure the CPD certification of the product according to EN 54-2, EN 54-4 and EN 12094-1, EN 60079-29-1.



In 2010 the innovative EXFIRE360 panel was developed. The original specifications of the panel for its construction were revised and written after a long experience in national and international projects, based also on the competence gained on several panels. This has allowed to develop a control panel dedicated to both fire & gas alarm and fire fighting.


A new concept of fire mitigation and interaction between the user and the engineered system both locally and remotely. The new panel EXFIRE360 is a modular and programmable unit, extremely versatile, that can perform a series of fire fighting integrated functions and technological alarm function management and serial management, using different protocols.

The basic version of EXFIRE360 panel is modular and based on 19” rack architecture: it is composed by a Lcd master , a keyboard with 18 keys, a 8” touch screen LCD display (up to 16 remote displays using a redundant 485 comunication line) to show fire alarm, gas alarm, trouble alarm and supervisory conditions and disablements. Each board is equipped with a 4,3” touch screen display to indicate the status of inputs and outputs.

The EXFIRE360 panel consists of an IP55 cabinet with frontal opening with the following sizes: 2000(h) x 800 (L) x 800 (P).

The panel is composed by a base rack for the CPUs and the display, a rack- mounted swing frame for the card displays and a saved of rack classis for the electrical cards.

Electrical connections are made on the rear side of the panel on DIN rail- mounted terminal boards. Setting the parameters of the panel and easy to perform. The instructions for the settings are made avalaible to the maintenance staff.

The programming software is provided (if request) on CD-ROM and it can be installed on a PC. The panel configuration is transferred to the panel by a serial communication port.

A non-volatile software is installed in the panel, which it won’t be erased even with a lack power supply.

EXFIRE360 control system is a dual-CPU, programmable and versatile control panel developed to perform integrated functions related to fire alarm management and fire extinguishiment actuation.

EXFIRE360 can be manufactured according to the safety requirements and is easily configurable using “Protection” software. EXFIRE360 panels can be networked via TCP/IP, RS-485, RS-232 and optical fibre, making it possible to design a network system with remote chassis.

All communications are redundant, while Enterprise software provides central or supervising station capabilities. The panel is modular, consisting of 19-inch racks with I/O cards for fire detection and/or extinguishment and/or building automation.

The cards are located inside the panel, while the displays (with RS-485 redundant communication) are installed at the front.

In case of failure, cards can be replaced quickly without having to operate on the terminals. In fact, terminals of the cards are accessible from the rear side of the panel.

EXFIRE360 offers a series of boards (with hot backup) for monitoring analogic/addressed sensors, conventional ones, rural lines and boards for the magement of analogic/digital I/O.

All board displays are touch-screen with command keys for various functions, such as viewing events or activating firefighting equipment.

Fire extinguishmnet fuction is controlled by dedicated cards, certified according to EN 12094-1 standard. These cards perform mandatory and optional functions (see brochure).

The panel is able to communicate with a remote supervision system through a dedicated tele-surveillance line and a telephone line with automatic call.  This function allows to connect more panels to a remote supervision system using a sole telphone line (two in  case of redundant system).
