The need to design increasingly complex electronic fire-fighting systems and make them autonomous; independent, able to carry out programmed actions on the fire emergency; in full independence without involving local staff, it has become a concrete reality and a guarantee for the customer.
In the last period SV, in collaboration with an important international partner, has carried out a revamping of a specific plant at the end customer that responds to the aforementioned needs. In this project, the EXFIRE360 control unit designed for the extinguishing system has found the correct size to meet all the regulatory requirements in reference to EN 12094-1 required by the end customer.

ACTIVATION OF THE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

The main control unit positioned in the control room and composed of power supply units with (3 redundant 40A units); complete with extinguishing cards; yellow discharge buttons for each sector and system boards for managing all signals via optical fiber.
The process of extinction in any sector can be initiated in two ways; automatically upon receipt of the activation signal from the detection system; manually using the yellow discharge buttons located on the extinguishing control unit in the control room. furthermore, if the fire is not completely extinguished after the first Argon discharge; there is a second battery of 360 cylinders of the same extinguishing agent.
Their implementation is always managed by the EXFIRE360 control unit through a local command placed near the control unit. This functionality meets the requirements of option 4.22 (Starting a secondary flooding) of the EN 12094-1 standard , a functionality integrated into the control unit specifically for this project and certified in a very short time thanks to IMQ CERTIFICATION RUSSIAN EAC in May of the year 2021.

REMOTE UNIT

Another real revolution of the fire-fighting system was to insert remote control panels for remote extinguishing in optical fiber. This option allowed the customer to save a lot of money on the laying of cables and on the laying of raceways (which in the previous philosophy all cables arrived at the exchange).
Having had the opportunity, always remaining within the certifications; managing remote units with input / output cards was a real success in addition to the speed of execution.
Then 3 remote units REM 1, REM 2, REM 3 have been inserted side by side (to form a single panel) containing shutdown cards and inputs / outputs for managing most of the floor signals. In addition, the remote power supply has been inserted with (2 40 ° redundant units) to guarantee the energy necessary for the operation of the system, from the remote units Rem1 / 2/3 another optical fiber has been laid to allow you to add further Rem4 / 5 also containing their power supply unit and cards for the limit switches of the compartment sorting valves.

CERTIFIED COMMUNICATION

CANBUS certified communication between the main control unit and the remote units will be guaranteed by a double optical fiber; (with separate paths) fire resistant (between the remote units REM 1, REM 2; REM 3 being placed side by side with copper patches) as required by the certification of the control panel itself and in order to have redundancy in communication.
The fire-fighting system in question concerned the possibility of managing many gas cylinders located for 13 different sectors. Activations The cylinder group consists of 9 extinguishing batteries; while the sorting system consists of 81 valves and 9 nitrogen control cabinets to operate the sector valves.
