Obtaining the EN 54-13 certificate constitutes a further step in the strategic partnership between SV, Autronica and Det-Tronics, which will make it possible to offer an increasingly wide range of solutions and products, as well as design, construction, programming, commissioning, onsite and off-site assistance for oil & gas and industrial applications.
This is part of the perspective of integration between manufacturers and strategic collaboration that SV has been pursuing for several years and which aims to offer customized and certified solutions to its customers. Although this is a voluntary standard, the EN 54-13 standard on the compatibility and interconnection of components of fire detection and alarm systems is in fact becoming a standard increasingly requested by the market and by the national legislative context.
EN54 SYSTEMS 13
The same Fire Prevention Code establishes that IRAI verified according to the UNI EN 54-13 standard are considered a compliant solution (S.7.5, point 2). This standard has acquired a particular value in the field of fire detection and alarm systems in the oil & gas and industrial sectors, since in the most demanding applications a third-party verification of full compatibility between components becomes crucial especially in integrated systems.
These systems typically consist of networked control units and fire alarm detection and signaling devices from different manufacturers, the integration of which cannot be limited to the design field but requires system validation supported by appropriate tests. SV, in collaboration with Autronica’s oil & gas division and Det-Tronics, has therefore submitted a standard system to EN 54-13 certification, consisting of a ring network of Autrosafe BS-420G SIL2 plants, interconnected to SV’s EXFIRE360 plants ( that manage the heavy requirements of secondary power supply of oil & gas plants), by automatic extinguishing units and by a series of detection and acoustic and light alarm components from different manufacturers.
